Grapefruit Diet is a popular fad Diet
The grapefruit diet has been around for sometime. This is one of those fad diets that actually can make you lose a few pounds fast. People who try this diet for a week can lose 10 or more pounds. But as soon as they go back to the old eating habits they gain back very quickly what they have lost.
Some sample menus:
Breakfast
Grapefruit + black coffee or tea
or
Grapefruit + 2 eggs + black coffee or tea
Lunch
Grapefruit + salad with any dressing + as much meat as desired
or
Grapefruit + one egg + salad, toast, coffee or tea
Dinner
Grapefruit + two eggs + 4-6 ounces of meat + coffee or tea
or
Grapefruit + salad with any dressing + meat or fish + coffee or tea
This diet can be unhealthy, because it lacks sufficient nutrients and many vitamins. This is a fad diet and like most fad diets, it is not a long term weight loss solution.
